RTTNews - Tuesday, a report from Statistics Sweden showed that the number of employed persons declined by 0.8% to 4,004,900 in the first quarter. The number of employed declined 0.4% in the private sector, while it fell 1.7% in the public sector in this period.

At the same time, the gross pay grew 1.7% in the first quarter, representing the lowest rate of increase since 2000. Gross pay increased 2.7% in the private sector, while it was up 1.3% in the public sector.

Meanwhile, the demand for labor decreased in the first quarter, with the number of job openings declining by 33% to 38,000.
