Friday, the State Secretariat for Economic Affairs or SECO said the Swiss jobless rate in April rose to 3.5% from 3.4% registered in March. The jobless rate matched economists' expectations. The seasonally adjusted jobless rate stood at 3.4%, also came in line with expectations.

Compared to the previous month, unemployment increased 35,829 persons or 35.5% in April.

The number of registered job seekers rose 2,734 from the previous month to 194,726 in April. From the previous year, job seekers increased by 39,832.
