FXstreet.com (Barcelona) - Swiss retail sales have grown in December although at a somewhat slower pace than in November, on the whole year, retail sales have increased at a larger extent than in the previous year, according to data released by the Swiss Federal Statistics Office.
In December 2007, sales have increased 1.2% in real terms and 2.2% in nominal terms. On the year 2007 as a whole, sales have risen 3.6% from the previous year, while they grew 3.4%working-day adjusted. In real terms, the increase has been 4.0% from the previous year. In 2006 retail sales rose 1.6% from 2005.
In 2007, sales have increased in all of the main sectors, 4.5% in clothing and shoes, 3.8% up in other products, and 2.9% in food drinks and tobacco.
