FXstreet.com (Barcelona) - A decline in exports in December has weighed the Swiss trade surplus to a CHF198 million , according to data released by the Swiss Customs office.

Exports declined 3.4% in real terms to 14.09 billion, while imports fell1.9% to CHF13.90 billion.

On the whole 2007, Switzerland obtained a 13.89 billion trade surplus, 15% above the surplus posted in the previous year, while from December 2006, the trade surplus posted a 59% decline, according to the Swiss Customs Office.
