Taiwan's UMC, the world's No.2 contract chipmaker, said on Wednesday its November sales rose 14 percent from the same month a year ago.

United Microelectronics Corp (UMC) had sales of T$10.44 billion ($344 million) last month, compared with T$9.156 billion the same month a year ago and T$10.7 billion in October, the company said on its website.

UMC did not give further details.
