"Talking Dead" host Chris Hardwick is still on cloud nine following his amazing weekend. Besides winning a Creative Arts Emmy for Best Creative Achievement in Interactive Media for his show "@Midnight With Chris Hardwick," the TV host popped the question to girlfriend Lydia Hearst.

Hardwick, who dishes about "The Walking Dead" on his AMC show, described the magical proposal on Instagram, saying he tricked the model into thinking they were headed to an Emmy after party at Chateau Marmont Saturday night following his big win.

"When we got up to the room I had to confess that I had tricked her when I pulled out the room key. I opened the door and the room was filled with wild flower bouquets and purple rose petals all over the floor (apologies to the housekeeping dept)," Hardwick wrote. "And then… IT HAPPENED. I pulled out a candy ring."

Hardwick explained that Hearst's real engagement ring, one handed down to him from her grandmother, was back in New York getting sized. "She affirmed that this union was mutually agreeable by bursting into tears," Hardwick continued. "Then there was kissing and cry breath. It was a scene so romantic."

Sharing a close-up photo of Hearst's gorgeous diamond ring, Hardwick wrote, "My biggest win of the night was actually @lydiahearst saying YES!!!! This ring belonged to her grandmother Catherine Hearst and @patriciahearst has graciously and wonderfully passed it down to me to give to Lydia. IT'S OFFICIAL!!!”

The 30-year-old model also commented on the proposal by posting a photo of her and Hardwick kissing. In the caption, she wrote, “Every love story is beautiful, but ours is my favorite. You completely swept me off my feet. You have shown me what it feels like to be loved and I love you with all my heart. My life is better because you are in it.”

The newly engaged pair, who started dating in 2014 after Hearst split from Kevin Connolly, has already been receiving a ton of well-wishes from their celebrity friends. "Hart of Dixie" star Jaime King tweeted, “Woke up thinking ‘I should text Lydia’ and it was at a magical moment where she JUST GOT ENGAGED to the most awesome dude @nerdist!! Congrats! Love you both!” And "Modern Family" actress Sarah Hyland posted, “Congratulations @LydiaHearst and @nerdist on your engagement!!! So happy for you both!”
