While not entirely a surprise, it has officially been confirmed that “Mortal Kombat 4” veteran Tanya will be coming to the critically acclaimed “Mortal Kombat X” as part of a downloadable content package. Of course, the character can also be purchased separately if anyone wants to get her without any of the other DLC packages; she might even end up as a “Challenge Tower” opponent if players are lucky.

“Mortal Kombat” creator Ed Boon confirmed the arrival of Tanya via a Twitter poem, stating the character will appear in early June, which is great news for fans of the gory fighting game. Tanya has been a mainstay of the series since 1997's “Mortal Kombat 4” and hasn’t missed a game since.

The female fighter is one of four characters available in the “Kombat Pack” DLC for “Mortal Kombat X.” She is joined by Tremor, Jason Vorhees from the “Friday the 13th” films and the world-famous Predator, who also comes from a particularly violent film series.

Jason Vorhees is available right now, while Predator and Tremor will be coming in the “Kombat Pack” soon, maybe even arriving with Tanya in early June. According to IGN, Predator and Tremor weren’t originally planned to be in the game, but were added due to fan demand.

While she’s not playable yet, fans can see the female warrior’s nasty-looking Fatality during the most recent “Mortal Kombat X” patch. Originally, her finishers could only be seen in the PlayStation 4 version of the game, but they should now be available to those with a PC or Xbox One version of the game.

“Mortal Kombat X” is available now for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC. Fans of the series with a last-gen console need not worry, as the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 version of the game will be coming out in the summer, according to Gamespot. There is also a free-to-play mobile version of the game available for iOS and Android devices.
