When Taylor Swift wrote her now famous letter to Apple in June, she was't really sure if she wanted to make it public. The “Bad Blood” singer's initial fear was that she would be looked as someone who “just whines and rants.”

While talking to Vanity Fair magazine, Swift said that she was up all night writing the letter to Apple addressing the issue of “zero percent compensation to rights holders.” She finished it in the early hours of the morning and called up her mom to talk about her fears.

But Swift is happy that Apple paid heed to her advice and immediately announced changes to its plan to include compensating artists even during the trial period of Apple Music. “Apple treated me like I was a voice of a creative community that they actually cared about,” Swift told Vanity Fair.

Apart from addressing the Apple issue, the songstress also talked about what makes her friendship strong with her girlfriends and what qualities she now wants in her boyfriend. Swift is friends with many models and fellow singers including Karlie Kloss, Gigi Hadid, Selena Gomez and even Lena Dunham. She often posts the pictures with the girls on her Instagram and is proud of the fact that their friendship is too tight-knit for any man to intervene.

“We even have girls in our group who have dated the same people,” Swift told the magazine. “It’s almost like the sisterhood has such a higher place on the list of priorities for us. It’s so much more important than some guy that it didn’t work out with,” she added.

Swift also talked about how she has changed her idea about the kind of men she wants to date now. She wants to find someone who is comfortable the way she is and does not try to change her. Swift is currently dating DJ Calvin Harris.
