Taylor Swift must be too busy to read her fan mail.

A Nashville woman found hundreds of unopened letters addressed to the singer in a trash can behind a local elementary school last weekend.

Kylee Francescan brought the mail to local station WKRN-TV and expressed her surprise.

"I didn't know if they were stolen [or] discarded," Francescan said to the station. "So I threw them in a box. And I'm like, 'Somebody needs to let Taylor know.'"

"It did bother me [because] I know how much her fans mean to her."

Swift’s management team denied that Swift purposefully threw out the unopened fan mail.

"Taylor gets thousands of fan letters every day and they are delivered to her management office. After the letters are opened and read, they are recycled," Swift spokesperson Paula Erickson said, according to the Daily News.

"The only explanation for any letters being unopened would be that a small batch of mail that was supposed to be delivered to Taylor was accidentally put with letters headed for the recycling center," Erickson continued.

The country-pop star is reputed to read her fanmail regularly and to be attentive to her fans in general. Last week, Swift visited Lauren Hacker, a 10-year-old cancer patient at Omaha's Children's Hospital & Medical Center, just days before kicking off her worldwide tour for her album "Red."

This bad news for Swift comes after reports that she was named one of the worst-selling magazine cover stars of 2012.

Other young celebrities who posed for magazine covers, such as Lauren Conrad and Ashley Greene, sold more magazines than Swift, who's face adorned the covers of such magazines as Vogue and Glamour.

Glamour editor-in-chief Cindi Leive blames Taylor's relationship woes for the lower sales, telling Women’s Wear Daily, who conducted the study, “There may have been a little hiccup for her right around the 1-D relationship,” referring to Swift’s breakup with One Direction star Harry Styles.

“But it’s nothing a pro can’t come back from. I’d put money on her for the long run.”
