A Portland, Oregon, man was arrested for an alleged stabbing Dec. 10, 2017, and said that Taylor Swift told him to do it. Multnomah County Sheriff's Department

A Portland man who claimed that pop star Taylor Swift told him to carry out an alleged stabbing is due back in court Tuesday.

Brent Shannon Thicksten, 43, is accused of chasing down and stabbing a stranger with scissors last week. The man who was stabbed suffered a two-inch laceration from the attack but did not need to go to the hospital. The victim claimed he saw Thicksten confronting another person and acting weird before Thicksten came after him, according to court documents.

Thicksten, who is homeless, was arrested and told police that he tried to stab the victim because “my wife told me to kill him.” Thicksten claimed that he was married to Swift and that he was trying to save everyone. Police asked Thicksten where his “wife” was and he responded that “we are one.” Thicksten then refused to answer any more questions citing his “top secret clearance.”

Thicksten is not married to Swift and Multnomah County Circuit Court said that records show that Thicksten is not currently married to anyone.

Thicksten faces charges of assault, attempted assault, unlawful use of a weapon and menacing. Thicksten’s bail was set at $277,500.

This isn’t Thicksten’s first run-in with the law.

Police said that in 2014 Thicksten stole a forklift and used to tear down a fence and drove down a set of train tracks. The incident involved 20 police patrol cars.
