Apple smashes expectations, shares hit record

Apple Inc's profits and sales streaked past Wall Street's forecasts as iPhone and Mac sales hit quarterly records, sending its shares rocketing to all-time highs on Monday. Motorola rises ahead of next Android phone launch

Shares in Motorola Inc rose over 8 percent on Monday on investor anticipation that its second phone powered by Google Inc's Android system would be a hit at Verizon Wireless.
