Technology stocks rose on Tuesday, with gains from Yahoo Apple.

The technology heavy Nasdaq Composite Index rose 19 points to close at 2,483.

Apple shares were up after Vodafone announced it struck a deal with the electronics company to distribute the iPhone in ten countries. Apple is attempting to meet its own goal of selling ten million units to gain 1 percent of the world's mobile phone market. Shares were up $1.93 to $186.66.

Yahoo shares rose $1.35 to $25.72 on the second day following Microsoft's decision to withdraw its $33 per share offer for the company. Yahoo's stock fell about 15 percent on Monday after the announcement.
