This is the episode “Teen Wolf” fans have been waiting for. Actress Crystal Reed finally comes back in Season 5B, episode 18, but she won’t return as Scott’s (Tyler Posey) love Allison. The Beast of Gévaudan’s origins will be explained, but that story can’t be told without delving into the Argent family history. Reed will appear in flashbacks as Allison's ancestor, Marie-Jeanne Valet.

“Hoping to align with a familiar ally, the Argents reveal a key clue to the mystery of the Beast of Gévaudan,” the synopsis reveals. Gerard (Michael Hogan) will tell the story of Marie-Jeanne, who was the hunter that killed the Beast the first time in 18th century France. The Argent ancestor just happens to share a face with Allison, who tragically died in Season 3.

Showrunner Jeff Davis has hinted that the new character will be involved in plenty of action scenes. “She was a peasant girl who had fashioned a bayonet onto a spear and was supposedly one of the first to survive an attack by the beast,” Davis told BuzzFeed in January. “Valet is another female warrior, and I think one of the great things Crystal does is she gives our viewers, especially our young female viewers, someone to look up to.”

Watch Reed discuss her return below:

As previously reported, Marie-Jeanne isn’t the only Argent there. She’ll be joined by Henri (Lachlan Buchanan), an Argent who has isolated himself by living in the woods, but might be able to help Marie-Jeanne. They’ll be joined by guest star Gilles Marini, who will play Sebastien, a soldier who learns that the Beast has been intimidating his sister.

The episode, titled “Maid of Gévaudan,” won’t focus entirely on the flashbacks. The last installment left the Beast running around the school. “Scott tries to take on the Beast himself,” the synopsis teases. However, the promo video doesn’t make it seem like that will go particularly well. Watch the trailer for “Teen Wolf” Season 5B, episode 18 below:
