Teen Wolf 511 recap
"Teen Wolf" Season 5, episode 11 showed Sheriff Stilinski (Linden Ashby) dying, and his son had to find a way to save him. MTV

The “Teen Wolf” Season 5B premiere proved that the MTV drama isn’t slowing down any time soon. Scott (Tyler Posey) was still recovering from his brief death, but he had other people to save in episode 11. When he heard the Sheriff (Linden Ashby) was in trouble, he knew that he had to reunite with Stiles (Dylan O’Brien) to help. But first, the show gave viewers a little look into the future.

Lydia’s Flash-Forward: The premiere kicks off with Lydia (Holland Roden) in the river where Theo’s sister died. Off screen she tells Dr. Valack (Steven Brand) what she is seeing and doing. He put some sort of cut in her head. He claims it will amplify her powers and help her save her friends.

Lydia is in the river and she sees a girl with a heart missing from her chest. Valack has a file, and realizes that Theo must’ve taken his sister’s heart to be a genetic chimera. However, it was when he was only 10-years-old. Why would the Dread Doctors go after a young boy?

However, they’re about to be interrupted. The chimeras go to Eichen House and say they’re there for Lydia.

Parrish’s Discovery: Back in the present, Parrish (Ryan Kelley) showers the soot off himself. He sees Lydia in the shower with him and they kiss. Much like his past hallucinations about kissing Lydia, it gets weird very quickly. Suddenly, leaves are all around him. “You’re a harbinger of death, Jordan. Don’t you know?” the hallucination says.

“Know what?” he asks.

“Someone’s dying,” she says.

Parrish realizes Lydia is in danger but the other deputies are too busy to look for her. He goes out on his own, and after lighting a flare, his instincts take over. He finds Lydia lying at the base of the nemeton.

Scott wakes up on the floor to find Parrish in his house. He has brought a catatonic Lydia to Scott. He explains that she carved a Sheriff’s badge into a rock while she was in the woods, and Scott believes it’s a warning.

Scott and Parrish take Lydia to the hospital, and Scott goes up to see the Sheriff, who was just in surgery after he was kidnapped and beaten. The doctors tell Stiles that they aren’t quite sure what’s still wrong with his dad, but something is infecting him. Stiles sees Scott and tackles the alpha while asking him where he was. Scott tells him that it’s not just the Sheriff that’s in trouble.

Stiles goes down to Lydia’s room and her mother (Susan Walters) throws him out. He tells her to check the back of her daughter's neck, but she won’t let him stay. She blames him and the pack for Lydia’s state, and she won’t hear anything Stiles has to say. Mrs. Martin sees the claw marks on the back of her neck, though. “I told you to stay in the car,” Lydia says.

A man from Eichen House claims they can keep Lydia safe, so Mrs. Martin has her committed to the mental institution. “I’m gonna find a way to get her out of there, even if I have to break through the walls,” Parrish tells her.

Valack is in the ambulance that is transporting Lydia. He tells the driver that she could shatter skulls with her voice if she was taught how.

Stiles and Scott Make Up: Stiles has other problems, though. The doctors don’t understand what’s wrong with his father, and Stiles thinks it might be something Theo did. He wants to talk to the chimera and see if there’s a possible cure. Theo claims that he knows what’s coming, what the Dread Doctors are and what Parrish is. How does that relate to poisoning the Sheriff? “If your dad does survive, he’s not going to be Sheriff of anything much longer,” Theo says. Stiles pushes him, but Theo knocks him back and gets away.

Luckily, Scott was listening from afar and says that Theo’s heart jumped when Stiles said his dad was poisoned. It might mean that Theo didn’t poison his father, but another chimera did.

Stiles wants to go alone to find his dad’s attacker, and Scott says that they have to work together. Scott calls Malia (Shelley Hennig) for help too. They’re looking for chimera named Noah.

Malia quickly realizes that Stiles didn’t ask for her help, and it’s a little awkward. “We kind of broke up, I guess,” she tells Scott.

“Yeah, we kind of broke up, too,” he says. He offers to chat, but Malia doesn’t want to share her feelings. She avoids him and catches the chimera’s scent. They go into an underground tunnel and find Noah.

Stiles gets knocked out and remembers his mother’s funeral, but he quickly recovers. The chimera reveals that he is on the run because the Dread Doctors are after him. Once Scott and Malia hear the Doctors coming, they have Stiles take Noah away. Scott says they’re going to slow down the Dread Doctors. Malia doesn’t understand how, but Scott reveals that she isn’t the only one he called. That’s when Chris Argent (J.R. Bourne) shows up with a big gun.

Noah claims he can’t remember anything about what he did to the Sheriff, but Stiles quickly figures it out. The chimera reveals his claws to help break a lock. Stiles calls Melissa, and she has the doctor open up the Sheriff to look for a piece of bone marrow from the claw. They find it and the Sheriff’s life is saved. He wakes up to find Stiles sleeping at his bedside. “It’s okay Stiles. You still got me,” he tells his son.

Liam’s Grief: Liam (Dylan Sprayberry) was following Deputy Clarke (Benita Robledo) because he wants to tell her that Hayden was dead. Mason (Khylin Rhambo) stops him because he worries his friend will become a murder suspect. Liam realizes he can hear Hayden’s heartbeat, but Mason convinces him otherwise.

Liam wants to find Hayden’s body at the nemeton. The boys start searching, but they come up empty. Mason realizes that if the nemeton is a beacon for supernatural creatures, Liam might be able to see it with his wolf eyes. It works, but they don’t find Hayden’s body. They only find four chimeras, and then deputies pull up behind them. Hayden steps out of the car and tells the officers that she found bodies here.

Theo Builds His Pack: Theo brings Hayden to the same place Malia and Scott caught Noah’s scent. They find silver and realize that Noah is dying. The Doctors have probably already found him. On the wall, they see a circular carving. It’s the symbol of an Alpha’s pack. Theo knows Scott’s pack is promising to come back.

Another Flash-forward: In the future, Valack asks if Scott has actually gotten the pack back. That’s when Theo and the chimeras break in. Valack wants to protect Lydia because the Dread Doctors don’t know how important she is yet. Theo says they don’t actually want Lydia; they want a hellhound. Parrish suddenly appears. He’s on fire, and he’s angry.

“Teen Wolf” Season 5B airs Tuesdays at 9 p.m. EST on MTV.
