A Texas mother was arrested last night for killing her 6-year-old son whose body was found on a roadside in Maine on May 14.

The boy's name was Camden Pierce Hughes and his mother's name was Julianne McCrery, who was arrested Wednesday by Massachusetts State Police at a rest area in Chelmsford. She has reportedly confessed of killing her son.

The police arrested McCrery after a tip from a caller alerted them that the pickup police were looking for was parked at a Chelmsford rest stop. After the arrest, the case was transferred to the New Hampshire Attorney General's Office.

McCrery, 42, has been charged for second degree murder in the death of Hughes and being as a fugitive from justice. She is expected to be arraigned this morning in Concord District Court.

The preliminary medical examination showed that the cause of Hughes' death is asphyxiation, however the final determination is pending further studies.

Several media reports say that McCrery was battling mental illness and once even tried to commit suicide.

Meanwhile, hundreds of people gathered at the First Parish Federated Church in South Berwick Wednesday night to mourn for the death of Hughes.
