texts from bennett
If you frequently monitor the Internet for the next viral sensation, then you've most likely stumbled upon the "Texts from Bennett" Tumblr blog detailing ridiculous conversations between an anonymous blogger and his cousin Bennett. But who is behind the Internet sensation? Tumblr/textsfrombennett

The hilarious Texts From Bennett might just be a creation of David Mac Lethal Sheldon's mind, according to The Smoking Gun.

The recently popular Tumblr blog features texts between Sheldon and a 17 year-old cousin that is a white boy that thinks he's a crip, works at Amoco, has a girlfriend named Mercedes, and is one of the most unintentionally funny and brilliant souls on the planet.

The conversations between Sheldon and his cousin Bennett range from conversations about sleeping with a stuffed animal to lasanya, a pie of pasta and ragu sauce.

The Tumblr quickly took the Internet by storm on Wednesday night, but there actually isn't a Bennett, according to Sheldon's father.

That's what he says, Sheldon's father laughed to TSG about whether there was a cousin named Bennett.

Instead, Sheldon's father says, Mac Lethal takes funny comments that a friend makes - he compared them to Yogi Berraisms to TSG - and writes them up and puts it in the form of texts.

The younger Sheldon has claimed to other publications that Bennett is 100 percent real and that the reason no one could find information about the younger cousin is that his legal name isn't Bennett.

Still, the creator of the popular Look at Me Now pancake remix criticized TSG for trying to ruin the fun for everyone.

We're trying to protect the storyline, he said.

Whether the text messages originate from an actual Bennett or not - it certainly seems to be from Sheldon - the quirky texts are still a hilarious read.
