RTTNews - Consumer confidence in Thailand declined to its lowest level in more than seven years in May, as consumers' concerns about the political unrest and recession in the country increased, the University of the Thai Chamber of Commerce said Thursday.

The confidence index dropped to 64.3 in May from 65.1 in April. A reading below 100 indicates pessimists outnumber optimists. The survey was conducted among 2,238 persons across the country.
