Friday, Thailand's Commerce Ministry said consumer prices fell 0.9% year-on-year in April, following a 0.2% decline in March. Economists were expecting prices to drop 1.2% in April.

Last week, the Bank of Thailand had reported that it expect consumer prices to increase either by up to 1% or fall by a maximum of 1% in the current year.
