For Portman, parenting is the hardest job in the world. The “No Strings Attached” actress did not consider full-time moms in “working capacity” before. However, this view changed when she welcomed her firstborn. When her little boy arrived, she realized that motherhood was the most intense role she played.

“I love being a mum, but it’s much more intensive work than being an actress – going to work feels like you’ve got a day off,” Portman said, Daily Mail reported. “Not that I want a day off from being a mum, it’s just perhaps I had this impression before that mums don’t work. But they work more than anyone.”

Meanwhile, in an earlier interview with The New York Time’s T Magazine, Portman revealed that she enjoys her family during downtime. Whenever she’s at home she is a hundred percent a wife and a mom.

“When I’m not working, I’m pretty much exclusively with my family. So my rituals have to do with school, meal preparation, playdates, bedtime. Weekends are best for ritual because I own them completely. I do the whole week’s laundry, which I love because it’s a task with a clear beginning and end. And then we spend the weekend together as a family - usually somewhere in nature, often with friends who have children,” Portman shared. The actress explained that during weekends there are lots of cooking, but she loves it than weekdays when she’s at work because it regenerates her energy.
