The 2013 U.S. Open was another disappointing major tournament for Tiger Woods. The golfer’s drought of winning majors continued as he finished with one of the worst scores of his career, shooting 13 over par for the four-day event. He ended Sunday 12 shots behind winner Justin Rose.

Woods may still be having trouble at majors, but his life off the course seems to have recovered since his divorce from Elin Nordegren. Rumors began to swirl in early 2013 that Woods had begun dating professional skier Lindsey Vonn. The two confirmed a few months later that they were indeed a couple. At the U.S Open, Vonn spoke about her relationship with one of the most popular athletes in the world.

“I can be normal by myself; no one notices me,” Vonn said in an interview with The New York Times. “But wherever he’s around, we’re living in a fishbowl. I didn’t quite know what I was getting myself into. It’s weird. But it’s just something I have to deal with. He has his job, and I have mine. I just have to get used to it.”

Vonn is a successful athlete in her own right. She won a gold medal at the 2010 Winter Olympics and has dominated her sport for the better part of a decade. Her fame, however, doesn’t come close to matching that of Woods, and Vonn has had trouble with living in her boyfriend’s shadow.

“Some people seem to forget that I’m not just Tiger’s girlfriend,” Vonn said. “I’m actually a successful athlete. I’m Lindsey. I have my own career and my own life.”

Vonn has caught some flak for dating Woods. A recent report in Us Weekly stated that Nordegren “hates” her ex-husband’s new girlfriend, and others have criticized her for being in a relationship with a man that has been in the news for numerous affairs. However, the 28-year-old tries to ignore what other people say about her personal life.

"I'm not an idiot. I try not to look, but I see what people say about me on Facebook. I see other things written. But I don't care. I learned a while ago from my divorce that my happiness is the most important thing. That's all I can control. And right now, I'm happy."

Below are some pictures of Vonn and Woods together. They both confirmed their relationship on Facebook in March.
