New York Jets quarterback Tim Tebow was booed at Sunday's New York Yankees game.

When Tebow was shown on the Yankees video scoreboard on Sunday night, he was showered with boos and only a few cheers. Even Miami Heat All-Star guard Dwyane Wade seemed to get a better reaction from the Yankee faithful when he showed off a Yankees hat.

Tebow was seated next to Wade in the third row next to the Los Angeles Angels dugout, according to the Associated Press.

I didn't get a chance to see him, Yankees manager Joe Girardi said after his team's 11-5 victory. I would have loved to get a chance to see him and talk to him. I'm sure he'll be back at some point. Obviously he's going to be around a lot more now. But I'd love to visit with him at some point.

The negative reaction at Yankee Stadium could be a bit of a wakeup call for the popular Tebow. The Jets acquired the Heisman winner from the Denver Broncos for a third round draft pick in the upcoming NFL Draft in April.

Tebow, who guided the Broncos to the playoffs last season, is expected to serve as Mark Sanchez's backup quarterback next season. The Jets are hoping to mix Tebow into the offensive scheme with the Wildcat, but despite his proclamation that he expects to challenge Sanchez for the starting job, the Jets see Tebow as a role player.
