Tim Tebow to Run for President after NFL Career?

The 2012 Presidential Election is less than two months away. Barack Obama or Mitt Romney will be inaugurated in January, but could a current NFL player take office in the future?

Tim Tebow recently stated the he has some interest in politics, and won’t dismiss, one day, running for political office.

"I haven't ruled it out,” said Tebow. Whatever avenue I feel like I can make a difference in, I'd love to do. I haven't ruled out anything like that. It won't be anytime soon in my future, but it'll be something I'll at least look at and consider one day."

Don’t expect Tebow to get into politics any time soon. The quarterback is just 25 years old and in his third NFL season.

The Jets backup didn’t express what specific office he would consider running for. He would have to wait until the 2024 election if he decides to run for president. The minimum age to run for head of state is 35.

Tebow has already done a lot, outside of his NFL career. His foundation does work in multiple countries, and is currently working on building a hospital in the Philippines.

There were rumors that Tebow was in line to attend this year’s Republican National Convention, but he did not appear at the event. He is popular among many republicans because of his conservative and religious beliefs.
