'Titanfall' Alpha Test Available For Xbox One, Sign Up Here

Invites to test Respawn Entertainment’s upcoming first-person shooter “Titanfall” are reportedly being sent out to EA Origin account holders, asking them to opt in for the title’s beta.

Users are reporting that invitations are informing them they've been selected to “take part in an exclusive trial for an upcoming title on Microsoft’s Xbox One.” They are then requested to register and follow a specific procedure for signing up. If chosen, the message states, an exclusive trial code will be sent via email – the email will also give testers the start date of the test and instructions on how to join the game.

EA and Respawn Entertainment haven’t officially announced any type of “Titanfall” testing, though Respawn’s Vince Zampella previously stated that “we’re definitely thinking about it.”

The registration process ends with the message "your application to participate is complete. If you are selected to take part in our upcoming test, you will receive an email in the coming days with a unique code and instructions on how to download and access the game on Xbox One. Thank you!"

“Titanfall” will launch on March 11 in North America and two days later in Europe. The title has already taken more than 60 awards at its E3 2013 premiere, including a record-breaking six E3 Critics Awards. “Titanfall” also won Best in Show awards from IGN, Destructoid and Game Informer.

In the game, players are able to fight on foot or as free-running pilots inside mech-style walkers called “Titans” to complete team missions and goals. The title is online multiplayer only, but it injects single-player elements such as plot, character interaction and nonplayer characters into its matches. Up to 12 players can participate at once.

On Jan. 15, Microsoft Director of Programming Larry Hryb posted photos and a Vine video on his blog that displayed a limited edition “Titanfall” controller, which will cost $64.99 and will launch alongside the title in March. Hryb also announced that he will be giving two controllers away to random “Titanfall” fans.
