Respawn Entertainment has removed “Capture the Flag” and “Pilot Hunter” from the PC version of "Titanfall” because no one was playing the two game modes.

“Yesterday we removed ‘Capture the Flag’ and ‘Pilot Hunter’ as separate playlists in the PC version of ‘Titanfall,’” Respawn wrote on its blog last week. “We have an amazing and large PC audience with the vast majority of users predominantly playing ‘Attrition’ and ‘Hardpoints’ game modes. ‘CTF’ and ‘Pilot Hunter’ have not been widely used modes on the PC version. Players trying to access these modes had overlong wait times to find other users and it was making for a poor experience. We want to make sure that not only is there compelling content in the playlists we offer, but that the experience of joining a match works well. We’re tracking what playlists players are choosing, and we’re going to continue to look at unpopular playlists and add new ones on both platforms.”

Respawn promises to launch new game modes in the future.

Last week, the title's "Expedition" DLC launched for the Xbox One and the PC. Respawn’s first DLC pack for the first-person shooter consisted of three new maps – "War Games," "Runoff" and "Swampland."

“Excited to say our 'Expedition DLC' and update will be available on May 15 for Xbox One and PC,” the Los Angeles developer tweeted May 13.

Earlier this month, Microsoft announced the downloadable content won’t be available for the Xbox 360 until next month.

“Updates for the Xbox 360 will naturally follow behind similar updates for the PC and Xbox One," Microsoft said. "This timing difference is due to the same reasons that more time was needed to finish ‘Titanfall’ for the Xbox 360.

“Respawn must first finish their additions and improvements for the Xbox One and PC, and afterwards Bluepoint can then grab the latest and update the Xbox 360 version. We’re working with Respawn and Bluepoint to streamline the process and close the gap, allowing Xbox 360 updates to be published as closely as possible to Respawn’s updates.”

Respawn launched "Titanfall" on March 11 for the PC and Xbox One. The title was supposed to come to the Xbox 360 on that same date, but it was postponed to April 8 in North America and to April 11 in Europe.

“We see a few things that can be made even better, so we’re giving Bluepoint a little more time to do just that and deliver an epic ‘Titanfall’ experience for Xbox 360 players," Patrick Soderlund, executive vice president of EA Studios, said. "The game will feature the same 6v6 gameplay, maps, modes, weapons and Burn Cards as the Xbox One and PC versions of the game.” EA is the publisher of “Titanfall.”

Bluepoint is an independent video game developer based in Austin, Texas, that has been working in conjunction with Electronic Arts on the game. Microsoft announced in early February the Xbox 360 release date for “Titanfall” would be delayed. Some critics at the time saw this as a marketing tactic by Microsoft to move more Xbox Ones off the shelf, but the company said it was the developer's decision to push back the launch date of the first-person shooter.

“Expedition” is available for $10. Users can also purchase the $25 “Titanfall” Season Pass, which gives players all three planned content packs as soon as they become available.
