AMSTERDAM, March 20 - Dutch navigation device maker TomTom NV launched a court case against Microsoft Corp but declined on Friday to divulge any details on the matter.

I can confirm that we are suing, a spokesman for the group said, declining to say in which country or on which grounds the case had been lodged.

TomTom's move comes a few weeks after Microsoft launched a patent lawsuit against it in the United States after the two failed to reach a patent-licensing agreement after more than a year of talks.

Microsoft filed a complaint in a U.S. District Court in Washington and at the International Trade Commission.
