Vanessa Hudgens has come a long way since her "High School Musical" days, but she hasn’t forgotten her Disney roots. The actress performed on the 2015 Tony Awards along with the company of “Gigi,” and Ashley Tisdale, Hudgens former “High School Musical” co-star, introduced her.

“Please welcome my best friend Vanessa Hudgens, Tony nominee Victoria Clark, Corey Cott and the company of ‘Gigi,” Tisdale, 29, said.

In “Gigi,” Hudgens, 26, plays the name character in the Parisian musical. Her teenage character is being groomed as a courtesan as she falls in love. The performance of “The Night They Invented Champagne” filled the stage with bubbles as dancers popped wine bottles. However, fans on Twitter seemed more interested in the introduction to the performance.

Hudgens and Tisdale met on the set of the Disney Channel movie “High School Musical,” which came out in 2006. The duo went on to make two sequels to the film together and have clearly remained friends (even though they played adversaries), something that excited Twitter users. Plenty of tweets were posted referencing their Disney days.
