Essar Energy plc has been adjudged the fastest growing energy company in Platts' 50 fastest growing of the Top 250 Energy Companies 2011.

The 2011 rating was prepared from a comprehensive analysis of 2010 financial indicators-value of assets, revenue, profit and return on investments compiled and maintained by S&P Capital IQ. The firms must be publicly traded and have assets worth more than $3.5 billion to be ranked in the Platts Top 250 Global Energy Company Rankings.

The rating of the 50 fastest growing energy companies is determined through aggregated growth in revenue for the past three years. With a three-year compounded growth rate (CGR) of 200 percent, Essar Energy was ranked as the fastest growing energy company by energy information provider Platts.

Saudi Arabia’s Rabigh Refining & Petroleum Company has been ranked as the second fastest growing energy company. Its three-year compounded growth rate (CGR) of 167.5 percent placed it on the second position.
