A popular information website on ski resorts, SkiReports.com, has released its final ranking of the most popular ski resorts for the 2011 calendar year, on the basis of fan following on social media.

The Web site ranks California's Mammoth Mountain as the most popular ski resort in North America. With a total of 99,458 Facebook fans, Mammoth beat the remaining top 5; California's Heavenly Mountain, British Columbia's Whistler Blackcomb, and Colorado resorts Vail and Breckenridge respectively.
