The Oscars of the mobile industry, the 17th Annual Global Mobile Awards, were held by GSMA at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2012 recently.

Top-drawer mobile products and services were showcased in the event and there were also some funny moments with comedian/songwriter Tim Minchin, the host of the show. Diversified nomination categories ranged from Best Mobile Innovation to Best App of the Year.

While Samsung and Apple scored top titles at the event, Google, Qualcomm and Samsung again, were among the multiple award winners, followed by Rio Angry Birds and WhatsApp, who also scored distinctive titles.
