Top 2012 NFL Draft prospect Justin Bethel notched a massive 60-inch standing vertical jump that was posted on YouTube and has since gone viral, boosting his profile as the Thursday draft nears.

Top 2012 NFL Draft prospect Justin Bethel, a defensive back from South Carolina's Presbyterian College, stands 5'11 and weighs 196 pounds according to his NFLDraftScout.com scouting report, but a new video [see below] shows that he has the ups to jump a full five feet straight up from the ground.

The star player is looking to build some buzz as NFL teams make their final decisions about who to sign in the 2012 NFL Draft, and Justin Bethel's 60-inch standing vertical jump video is just the thing to garner some attention.

But if Justin Bethel hopes to make it past being a top 2012 NFL Draft prospect and end up as a successful pro on an NFL team, he's going to need to do more to impress coaches than create stunning viral videos like this one.

Apparently, Justin Bethel is doing just that. Earlier this year the top 2012 NFL Draft prospect became the first player invited from his small Clinton, S.C., college (the school's team name is literally the Blue Hose) to attend the scouting combine, during which NFL team scouts analyzed players and made assessments about which 2012 NFL Draft prospects they want to sign.

According to his Feb. 26, 2012, scouting report on NFLDraftScout.com, he is a very versatile player, perhaps able to play positions ranging from defensive back to cornerback and even safety.

But you can bet your socks that Justin Bethel will also be playing on special teams if he finds his way onto an NFL roster, according to the scouting report, as he used his 76 3/4-inch wingspan to block nine kicks in four seasons at Presbyterian.

My senior year I had four or five blocks, he said. I don't know. It's just something I've had a knack, he said, according to the report. I get a real good start-off coming off the edge, two or three steps I'm jumping. Because of my kind of long body I can get there. So it's just a knack for it. It's something I've been doing.

Justin Bethel may be a top 2012 NFL Draft draft prospect now, but before he decided to accept a free scholarship to Presbyterian, he always planned on being a cook:

To tell you the truth, I got a half-scholarship (offer) from Charleston Southern. But I was like, I'll wait, he told NFLDraftScout.com. It was funny, because I wasn't even planning on playing football after high school. I was going to go to Johnson & Wells for culinary arts. Because I had taken culinary classes for the past three years in high school. But I would have had to pay for it. Football was free. Football vs. having to pay for it. I said, I'll take the free.
