The Super Bowl is one of the biggest advertizing bonanza's in the world. Every year for one day America's companies have more than 100 million people in a captive audience in front of their televisions so they pull out all the stops.

Some of the ads have been heartwarming, some hilarious and some unforgettable but here, are the top 5 of all time.

5. Mean Joe Greene for Coke

This ad debuted in 1979 and was one of the most heartwarming and innocent to ever be aired during the Super Bowl. It celebrates the pure love of the game present in all of us and so has endured far beyond anything else on this list.

4. Terry Tate - Office Linebacker for Reebok

One of the most laugh out loud funny ads to ever air during the Super Bowl, it was actually a 4 minute skit that was broken down into smaller ads during the game. Oddly, this is an example of an ad that barely features the product it is advertising, a feature of many of the best Super Bowl ads.

3. Darth Vader for Volkswagen

This ad, from 2011, featured a child in an incredibly realistic Darth Vader costume trying out his force powers. When he attempts them on his fathers car, he finally gets results.

2. Budwiser Frogs

Anheuser-Busch, makers of Budwiser beer, has been responsible for some of the most memorable Super Bowl ads ever and the frogs were there best. The ad was incredibly simple, which helped its success. In fact it features just one line of actual dialog, Budwiser.

1. Michael Jordan & Larry Bird play horse for McDonalds

This 1993 ad featured two of the NBA's greatest players ever competing in an epic game of horse, over a Big Mac. This ad gets bonus points for its revival in 2011 later with LeBron James and Dwight Howard.
