The top after-market NASDAQ gainers Thursday were Netflix, Cerus Corporation, Avanir Pharmaceuticals Inc, Orexigen Therapeutics Inc, and IAC/ InterActiveCorp. The top after-market NASDAQ losers were Ixia, J.B. Hunt Transport Services, Viropharma Inc, MannKind Corporation and Alexza Pharmaceuticals Inc.

Gainers

Netflix Inc. (NASDAQ:NFLX) shares climbed 2.85 percent to $177.94 in post-market trading. Netflix CEO Reed Hastings in a Facebook post announced the company has streamed over 4 million hours of movies and TV shows in the first quarter of 2013.

Cerus Corporation (NASDAQ:CERS) shares climbed 2.47 percent to $4.97 in post-market trading. The stock has a 52-week low of $2.68, a 52-week high of $5.18 and $272.82 million in market capitalization. The shares gained over 6 percent in regular trading Thursday.

Avanir Pharmaceuticals Inc. (NASDAQ:AVNR) shares surged 1.71 percent to $2.97 in post-market trading. The stock has a 52-week low of $2.07, a 52-week high of $4.05 and $400.61 million in market capitalization.   

Orexigen Therapeutics Inc. (NASDAQ:OREX) shares gained 1.49 percent to $6.14 in post-market trading. The stock has a 52-week low of $3.10, a 52-week high of $7.73 and $560.22 million in market capitalization.

IAC/ InterActiveCorp. (NASDAQ:IACI) shares advanced over 1 percent to $44.84 in post-market trading after losing more than 3 percent in regular trading Thursday. The stock has a 52-week low of $38.20, a 52-week high of $55.57 and $3.74 billion in market capitalization.  

Losers

Ixia. (NASDAQ:XXIA) shares tumbled 4.82 percent to $17.78 in post-market trading after the company reduced its forecast for the next quarter. The company currently expects revenues in the first quarter of 2013 to be in the range of $121 million to $123 million, below its prior revenue guidance of $125 million to $127 million.

J.B. Hunt Transport Services Inc. (NASDAQ:JBHT) shares slumped 2.84 percent to $72.11 in post-market trading. The company reported its first quarter earnings Thursday that missed analysts' estimate. The company reported first quarter earnings per share of $0.61, $0.03 worse than the analysts' estimate of $0.64. Revenues for the quarter came in at $1.29 billion versus the consensus estimate of $1.29 billion. Net income for the quarter increased to $73.35 million from $67.68 million or $0.57 per share reported in the comparable quarter last year.

Viropharma Inc. (NASDAQ:VPHM) shares plunged 2.63 percent to $24.05 in post-market trading. The stock has a 52-week low of $19.02, a 52-week high of $31.36 and $1.61 billion in market capitalization.

MannKind Corporation. (NASDAQ:MNKD) shares declined 2.54 percent to $4.18 in post-market trading. The stock has a 52-week low of $1.57, a 52-week high of $4.50 and $1.23 billion in market capitalization.

Alexza Pharmaceuticals Inc. (NASDAQ:ALXA) shares fell 1.81 percent to $4.88 in post-market trading. The stock gained 5.30 percent in regular trading, Thursday.
