The top after-market Nasdaq gainers Thursday were Smith & Wesson Holding Corporation, Lincare Holdings Inc, Fushi Copperweld Inc, Synta Pharmaceuticals Corp and Amtech Systems Inc.

The top after-market Nasdaq losers were: Research in Motion Limited, Cree Inc, Seattle Genetics Inc, The Finish Line Inc and Ascena Retail Group Inc.

Gainers

Smith & Wesson Holding Corporation (SWHC) shares climbed 12.92 percent to $7.78 in after-hours trading. The company reported Thursday a stronger growth rate and a better-than-expected forecast for the first quarter of 2013 and for the fiscal year 2013.

The company announced that for the first quarter of 2013, it expected net sales from the continuing operations to be between $125.0 and $130.0 million against the analysts' expectation of $112.6 million.

Shares of Lincare Holdings Inc (LNCR) rose 11.46 percent in post-market session to close at $ 36.00. Halozyme Therapeutics Inc is a provider of oxygen, respiratory and other chronic therapy services to homebound patients. The company shares have a 52-week low of $19.65, a 52-week high of $33.19 and $2.79 billion in market capitalization.

Fushi Copperweld Inc. (FSIN) shares advanced 12.10 percent to $ 8.80 in post-market trading. The company Thursday said it had agreed to be acquired by entities affiliated with its chairman and co-chief executive officer, Li Fu, and Abax Global Capital (Hong Kong) Ltd. for $9.50 per share in cash.

Synta Pharmaceuticals Corp (SNTA) shares gained 3.11 percent and reached $ 4.97 in after-hours trading. The biopharmaceutical company has a 52-week low of $3.02, a 52-week high of $8.50 and $277.82 million in market capitalization.

Amtech Systems Inc (ASYS) shares surged 2.85 percent to $3.97 in after-hours trading Thursday. The shares of the global providers of thermal processing systems have a 52-week low of $3.86, a 52-week high of $21.65 and $36.59 million in market capitalization.

Losers

Research in Motion Limited (RIMM) slumped 13.91 percent to $ 7.86 in post-market session Thursday. RIM is cutting 5,000 jobs and delaying the launch of its new phone operating system, BlackBerry 10, until after the holiday shopping season, the Associated Press has reported.

Cree Inc (CREE) shares plunged 3.69 percent to $24.29 in post-market session. The semiconductor manufacturer has a 52-week low of $20.25, a 52-week high of $37.30 and $2.93 billion in market capitalization.

Seattle Genetics Inc (SGEN) shares lost 2.95 percent in after-hours trading to reach $24.64. Its shares gained 2.15 percent in regular market trading. The biotechnology company shares have a 52-week low of $12.29, a 52-week high of $26.01 and 2.97 billion in market capitalization.

The Finish Line Inc (FINL) shares dropped 2.84 percent to $18.15 in after-hours trading. The stock of the internet business company has a 52-week low of $16.42, a 52-week high of $26.16and $948.29 million in market capitalization.

Ascena Retail Group Inc (ASNA) shares declined 2.81 percent to $17.63 in after-hours trading.
