Genoptix, Inc. (GXDX) surged 16.80 percent to $21 in the pre-market trading. The company has put itself up for sale, the Bloomberg reported citing people familiar with the process. The Carlsbad, California-based Genoptix, having a market cap of $316.61 million as of Monday, has reportedly hired Barclays Plc to conduct an auction.

Sanderson Farms, Inc. (SAFM) climbed 7.39 percent to $45.62 in the pre-market session. The company's fourth quarter profit was $47.8 million or $2.08 a share, up from $19.8 million or $0.95 a share last year. Sales rose to $529.1 million from $469.0 million. Analysts had expected profit of $1.72 a share on revenue of $521.13 million.

Infinera Corp. (INFN) moved up 7.21 percent to $11 in the pre-market trading.

Amgen Inc. (AMGN) jumped 6.92 percent to $57.85 in the pre-market session. The company announced encouraging results from a Phase 3 trial evaluating XGEVA versus placebo in men afflicted with castrate-resistant prostate cancer. The trail known as the '147 study' showed that XGEVA or Denosumab perceptibly improved median bone metastasis-free survival by 4.2 months compared with placebo, which was the primary endpoint.

Ness Technologies Inc. (NSTC) soared 3.46 percent to $5.38 in the pre-market trading. Israel-based Calcalist newspaper reported that four investment funds are bidding to acquire Ness Technologies for about $300 million. The bidding process for the company will end by mid-2011.

MannKind Corp. (MNKD) improved 2.60 percent to $7.89 in the pre-market trading.

Silicom Ltd. (SILC) gained 2.57 percent to $17.94 in the pre-market session.

Comcast Corp. (CMCSK) grew 1.69 percent to $20.48 in the pre-market session. The company is testing a new service in Augusta, Georgia that combines television and the Internet, the Wall Street Journal reported citing people familiar with the matter. Under the new system, content flows through a set-top box that combines features of the Web with those of a digital-video recorder.

NVIDIA Corp. (NVDA) increased 1.45 percent to $14.78 in the pre-market trading.

Orexigen Therapeutics, Inc. (OREX) rose 1.33 percent to $9.13 in the pre-market session.
