RTTNews - Bay Street stocks will look to halt a two-session losing streak on Friday. Trading should be light with U.S. traders away from their desks to observe Independence Day.

Energy stocks could see weakness as crude oil continues a downward move. In electronic trading, crude oil has inched lower by 12 cents to $66.61, extending a monthly low. NYMEX trading is also closed for the holiday.

In metal trading, gold has rose $1.90 to $932.90 per ounce and copper dropped 3.6 cents to $2.2695.

On the corporate front, Quebecor World (IQW.TO) said its reorganization plans have received approval from the Quebec Superior Court and the U.S. Bankruptcy Court.

SNC-Lavalin Group Inc. (SNC.TO) announced that it has completed its offering of aggregate principal amount of C$350 million of 6.19% debentures due July 3, 2019. The debentures were issued through a syndicate of agents led by RBC Dominion Securities Inc.

Teck Resources Limited (TCK-B.TO) announced that China Investment Corporation or CIC has agreed to purchase through a wholly-owned subsidiary 101.3 million Class B subordinate voting shares of Teck for C$17.21 per share.

On Thursday, the S&P/TSX Composite Index fell 129.00 points or 1.24% to finish at 10,245.91. The main index returned from Wednesday's holiday break with its second straight negative close.
