Japanese electronics maker Toshiba said on Tuesday it aims to lift its operating profit to 500 billion yen ($6.1 billion) in the year to March 2014, from 240.3 billion yen in the year that ended in March 2011.

The company, which is also Japan's biggest chipmaker and is looking to boost its nuclear power business, said it plans capital spending of 1.45 trillion yen over the next three years.

The firm said it might see a delay in reaching its target for orders of 39 nuclear reactors by several years from an original plan of March 2016.
