Toyota Motors' China unit said on Thursday that it sold 82,900 vehicles in November, up 17 percent compared to same period year ago.

The growth in monthly sales comes after sales dropped in October, which was the first retreat in 18 months.

November sales bounced back due to incentives and other promotional efforts, said people close to the Toyota, citing price cuts on the Corolla sedan and RAV4.

Total sales for January-November were up 16.7 per cent to 726,500 units. Toyota's sales in China are now on track to hit the full-year target of 800, 000 units.
