Comedian Tracy Morgan’s condition was upgraded to fair on Monday, The Wrap reported. The “30 Rock” star was involved in a bus crash on June 7 that killed his friend and mentor James McNair and seriously injured several others. Morgan and the others were on their way home after a performance.

Family members told Morgan's rep that the comedian's “personality is certainly starting to come back as well” and Morgan's publicist added that Morgan continues to show signs of improvement more than a week after the crash on the New Jersey Turnpike, according to the Wrap

“Happy to pass along that Tracy has been upgraded to fair condition, which is a great improvement,” Morgan's spokesman Lewis Kay said in a statement to the news site.

Jeff Millea, a Morgan associate who was also injured during the crash, was also upgraded to fair condition on Monday, Kay said.

Though Morgan is in fair condition, he is expected to remain in the hospital for several weeks. Some of his injuries include a broken leg, a broken femur, a broken nose and several broken ribs, the Wrap wrote.

The crash occurred when a tractor-trailer operated by Wal-Mart allegedly slammed into the back of the limo. The crash resulted in the bus flipping over, which then set off a series of accidents on the Turnpike.

Kevin Roper, 35, allegedly the driver of the truck, was charged with one count of death by auto and four counts of assault by auto. The Jonesboro, Georgia, native pleaded not guilty on June 11. He was released on $50,000 bail.

It was reported Roper hadn’t slept for 24 hours at the time of the accident. If it’s found he was responsible for the crash, Wal-Mart said it would take “full responsibility.”
