AMC series “Fear The Walking Dead” isn’t known for killing off its main characters like its parent show, “The Walking Dead.” However, that may soon change. Season 2 saw the death of Travis Manawa’ (Cliff Curtis) son Chris (Lorenzo James Henrie). Although Chris was one of the main characters, his story wasn’t well received by fans. In the end, most were relieved that he died.

Unfortunately, it looks like Travis might meet his son in the afterlife in Season 3. According to Entertainment Weekly, the New Zealand native has signed on for four of James Cameron’s upcoming “Avatar” sequels.

Curtis will play Tonowari, the leader of the reef people clan Metkayina. The movies will be shot in his home country.

The 48-year-old actor will reportedly shoot the films alongside “Fear The Walking Dead.” However, his casting in four films has given rise to speculation that his character may not last long on the zombie drama.

Indeed, when we last saw Travis, he was still reeling from the shock of losing his son. Angry at the teenage boys responsible for Chris’ death, he channeled his inner rage in true Rick Grimes’ style and killed them along with an innocent character staying in a hotel. Now, Travis has lost his ex-wife Liza (Elizabeth Rodriguez) and son. Although he still has his lover Madison (Kim Dickens) for comfort in a post-apocalypse world, the Manawa family could very well be erased from the world for good.

Furthermore, Travis is a principled man with a strong moral compass. That isn’t exactly the kind of man that sticks around in a world ruled by the undead. In fact, it makes him an easy target. Then again, Travis could change with his son’s death and be willing to do anything to survive. His moral compass may be fractured in “Fear The Walking Dead” Season 3.

Another clue that hints at Travis’ imminent death is the promo. In it, Alicia (Alycia Debnam-Carey) is seen screaming his name. He is also seen being held captive by a group of men. There is also a glimpse of his bruised and bloodied body.

Season 3 will kick off on June 4 with a two-hour premiere in which the characters in the show are finally brought together on the U.S.-Mexico border. While Travis finally reconnects with Madison, her daughter Alicia will be fractured after murdering Andres (Raul Casso).

Meanwhile, Luciana (Danay Garcia) and Madison’s son Nick (Frank Dillane) escaped death but now they are in a vulnerable position. An American militia group is determined to take them them down. On the other hand, Ofelia (Mercedes Mason) is being held captive by this same group and if she wants to escape captivity, she needs to muster the savagery of her father.

The official synopsis of Season 3, episode 1 reads, “The Clark family find themselves in a dire predicament. They must work together to discover a path to safety.”

“Fear The Walking Dead” Season 3 premieres with two back-to-back episodes on Sunday, June 4 at 9 p.m. EDT on AMC.
