True Blood
The end is near for Sookie and Bill. The series finale of "True Blood" will air on HBO on Sunday, Aug. 24. HBO

The true death is near for HBO’s hit series, “True Blood.” The seventh and final season will come to a close on Sunday, Aug. 24, with the series finale: “Thank You.”

Episode 9 set fans up for a dramatic and potentially deadly final episode. Bill told Sookie and Jessica that he’s choosing “true death” and released Jessica as his progeny. Sam packed up and left town without telling anyone, simply leaving a goodbye note for Sookie and a resignation letter for Andy. And Jessica finally told Hoyt the truth about their romantic history, leading him to end things with Brigette and spark up a relationship with his ex. In the final moments of “Love is to Die,” Eric found himself in a sticky situation with Mr. Gus and the Yakuza threatening Pam’s life and demanding Sookie’s location.

A synopsis for episode 10, which also marks the 80th episode of the supernatural series, teases that “True Blood” viewers will find Sookie weighing her future “with and without Bill.” While she didn’t take Bill’s choice well in episode 9, Bill asked to call on her to explain his decision on the Hep-V cure. Will she be able to accept his choice? Will Bill change his mind?

Meanwhile, Eric and Pam will “struggle with their uncomfortable partnership with Mr. Gus.” Eric has chosen Pam over others time and time again, so we have no doubts that he’d give up Sookie’s whereabouts before letting Pam get staked by the Yakuza. But this time we don’t think that the maker and progeny will sit back and agree to whatever the Yakuza say. Based on the trailer, it looks like Eric and Pam will show Mr. Gus that they don’t take kindly to his threats and demands.

Finally, the synopsis adds that "Sam will make a choice" and Andy will come upon “an unexpected inheritance.”

Episode 10, the series finale of “True Blood,” will air on Sunday, Aug. 24, at 9 p.m. EDT. What do you think will happen in “Thank You”? Tweet your thoughts to @AmandaTVScoop.
