True Blood
Eric's fate in season 7 of "True Blood" has been revealed. HBO/ Screen shot

WARNING: SPOILERS AHEAD

“True Blood” ended its sixth season on Sunday, Aug. 18, and while there were many “OMG” moments in the season finale, the biggest one came when Eric turned up on a mountain in Sweden, naked and reading a book. Fans gawked at actor Alexander Skarsgard in all his bare glory … until Warlow’s magical faerie blood wore off and he burst into flames. The cameras then cut to six months into the future, clearing up where Sookie, Bill and the others are headed … but leaving Eric’s fate dangling naked in the air.

So, is Eric really dead? Or can “True Blood” fans expect to see Alexander Skarsgard reprise his Viking vampire role in season seven? Fortunately, TV Line cleared up the confusion in an interview with “True Blood” showrunner Brian Buckner. “I can tell you that Alexander Skarsgard is going to be a part of the next season of ‘True Blood,’” Buckner reassured crazed fans. “He will be a series regular.”

I think we can all breathe a collective sigh of relief.

“I’m not going to take Alex Skarsgard out of people’s living rooms,” Buckner continued. But how will his character survive the sun when he’s on top of a bright and sunny Swedish mountain? The showrunner teased that Pam did go off to search for him -- so maybe she's the one who comes across his semi-charred naked body? Fans will definitely have to wait until season seven airs in June 2014 to find out how Eric gets himself out of that hot situation.
