'True Blood's' Real Life Couple, Anna Paquin And Stephen Moyer: A Timeline Of Their Romance

The pair, who first met while auditioning for the hit HBO series in 2007, has had an eventful courtship. Here's a timeline of their romance.

Summer 2007: Paquin and Moyer begin filming the pilot episode of True Blood and keep their budding romance a secret from the cast and crew. The pair's relationship status is hidden from the public for nearly two years. Moyer later confirms to Chelsea Lately that the two got to know each other during the pilot and joked that by the time we came back to do the show (HBO picked up a full season of the series in August of 2007) we had blessed the relationship. 

 February 24, 2009: In an interview with TV Guide magazine Moyer confirms that he and Paquin are an item off-screen as well. We are together. It's just exciting and that was there from day one. We're very, very happy. She's the best.

August 5, 2009: A rep for Paquin and Moyer announced via People magazine that the couple is engaged. The actor later tells the NZ Herald:

It felt ridiculous to call the person that you are going to spend the rest of your life with, your girlfriend.

April 1, 2010: In a PSA promoting the Give a Damn campaign, Paquin announces that she's bisexual. She reveals:

I'm Anna Paquin. I'm bisexual and I give a damn.

June 17, 2012: Moyer defends the actress's choice to come out telling Playboy:

I condone what she has done 100 percent, he reveled. It's her business to talk about it, not mine. It doesn't change anything. I'm proud of who she is. He goes on to say, I have never trusted anybody like I trust Anna.

August 21, 2010: The couple weds at a Malibu villa in a small ceremony. Several True Blood co-stars are in attendance, including Ryan Kwanten (Jason Stackhouse), Rutina Wesley (Tara Thornton), and Sam Trammell (Sam Merlot). Though a few low quality paparazzi shots are snapped, the wedding photos are never released to the public.

August 24, 2010: The pair is seen out for the first time since the wedding. Paquin's Cathy Waterman design platinum wedding band is revealed.

July 24, 2011: Paquin tells V Magazine that she has no qualms about acting out raunchy sex scenes with Moyer for the series.

Maybe it should be weird, simulating sex with your husband in front of people? But it's really not, she revealed. When it's a love scene with someone you actually love, there's no feeling like, 'Can I touch him here? Can I touch him there?' You know what your boundaries are - or what they aren't, I suppose.

April 17, 2012: The couple announces exclusively to Entertainment Weekly that their expecting their first child together. Speculation as to what that means for her character on True Blood is rampant.

But with the filming of season five scheduled to wrap shortly, it's likely that her pregnancy won't affect the series.
