True Detective
Will we finally find out what happened between Cohle and Hart in 2002 during episode 6 of "True Detective"? True Detective

TGIF, right, folks? Not only are we looking forward to putting up our aching feet this weekend, but we’re also anxiously awaiting the airing of “True Detective” season 1 episode 5, “The Secret Fate Of All Life.” So, after you shovel all that snow out of your driveway, sit back and relax while you watch our favorite two detectives solve a 17-year-old crime.

Here’s what fans should expect to occur Sunday night on HBO at 9 p.m., according to the series’ synopsis:

“The spoils of a solved case are shared by Hart (Woody Harrelson) and Cohle (Matthew McConaughey),” while “troubling new intelligence is revealed by Papania and Gilbough.”

If you haven’t been keeping up with the HBO series, let us explain what’s going on. Basically, “True Detective” is an anthology drama, created by Nic Pizzolatto, that flips between past and present scenes over the span of 17 years. The story began with the ritualistic murder of a former prostitute named Dora Kelly Lange, who was found with a symbol painted on her back and a “crown” made of deer antlers strapped to her curly red hair. Now, after 17 years, authorities are still trying to find the perp responsible for the string of similar Louisiana murders.

Cohle and Hart are currently being questioned about the events they witnessed in 1995 by Detectives Thomas Papania (Tory Kittles) and Maynard Gilbough (Michael Potts). The former partners, however, are interviewed separately considering their harsh falling out in 2002.

Can all four detectives work together to finally figure out who has been murdering women for nearly two decades? We hope so. But that doesn’t seem to be the case. In fact, the episode 5 promo suggests that Papania and Gilbough have reason to believe Cohle should be a suspect.

“You want to see something?” Cohle asks. “Get a warrant.”

We know Cohle has a troubled past, but we highly doubt he’s the one who went off on a killing spree in Louisiana.

Who do you think is the killer? Let us know your “True Detective” predictions in the comments section below and don't forget to watch the series this Sunday.
