Time to break out the magnifying glasses, “True Detective” fans, because everyone’s favorite crime drama is one step closer to airing its mysteriously "complicated" second season. On Thursday afternoon, HBO released the first trailer of the hit mystery series’ sophomore installment. And from what we gathered as we watched the minute-long promo video, it seems as though viewers are in for yet another wild and thought-provoking season.

In the script less-trailer, fans of Nic Pizzolatto’s award-winning drama can catch a glimpse of all the actors set to star in Season 2 of the critically acclaimed anthology in action, including Colin Farrell, Vince Vaughn, Taylor Kitsch, Kelly Reilly, Rachel McAdams -- and yes, even Farrell’s luscious mustache.

In between scenes - which show the characters giving each other serious glares - throughout the promo, fans can catch a nod to this season's theme, which focuses around the “The Secret Occult History of the U.S. Transportation System." The anticipated trailer kicks off with an aerial view of California’s winding highways, a later scene displays Vaughn’s character Frank Semyon, a former "thug-turned-businessman," showcasing what looks to be a high-speed railway system that links South California to the North.

But that’s not all that was revealed in the Season 2 trailer of “True Detectives.” The mystery surrounding the sophomore installment’s premiere date was also uncovered at the very end of the promo video. According to the trailer, the new season of "True Detective" will premiere episode 1 on Sunday, June 21. Do you think you're ready to solve Pizzolatto's newest puzzle?
