Donald Trump was trolled by Twitter users Wednesday after the president-elect shared a photo of him writing the speech for the Inauguration Day ceremony. Several Twitter users joked about it, questioning Trump's ability to write his own speech.

The real estate mogul, who will be sworn in Friday as the 45th president of the United States, took to his Twitter account to share a photo of him at his estate in Palm Beach, Florida, looking stern as he used a black pen to write something on a white pad.

“Writing my inaugural address at the Winter White House, Mar-a-Lago, three weeks ago,” Trump tweeted. “Looking forward to Friday. #Inauguration.”

The photo sent the internet straight into "meme mode," with several Twitter users making fun of the 70-year-old.

However, CNN reported Tuesday, citing two senior Trump transition officials, that the president-elect wrote his inauguration address draft himself. During his campaign, Trump relied on texts prepared by senior policy adviser Stephen Miller.

Last year, Trump’s wife Melania was accused of plagiarizing parts of Michelle Obama's speech for her address at the Republican National Convention.

Meanwhile, during his latest interview with Fox News, Trump spoke about his frequent use of Twitter, saying he uses the social media platform as a shield against the “unbelievably dishonest” media.

“Look, I don’t like tweeting, I have other things I can be doing,” Trump told Fox News in an interview that aired Wednesday morning. “But I get very dishonest media, very dishonest press. And it’s my only way that I can counteract. When people make misstatements about me, I’m able to say it and call it out.”

Trump, who has over 20 million Twitter followers since joining in March 2009, has been very active on Twitter with his early-morning rants and policy pronouncements.
