Xbox One users that aren’t so sure about picking up “Rise of the Tomb Raider” are in luck, as Microsoft has launched a free demo of the game to try out. Now fans that are on the fence about the game can try it out for themselves and see if it’s worth purchasing.

All fans have to do is go to the online Xbox store and pick the option “Try it Free.” It’s not yet known what portion of the game was put into the demo, so curious players are going to have to try it out for themselves if they want to know what will be in it.

It’s somewhat odd not having the specifics of the demo explained on the game’s main page, though it is a free download. There’s also no telling if the demo has players play around with one portion, or if it is a timed demo, so it must be downloaded to see what is in it.

GameSpot stated that it’s only the Xbox One version that has a demo so far, so those wondering if they should get the Xbox 360 version of “Rise of the Tomb Raider” are currently out of luck. The last-gen version is supposedly just as good as the current-gen one, so those with an Xbox 360 can pick up the game without any regrets, if that’s the main concern.

“Rise of the Tomb Raider” has gotten mostly positive reviews since it came out, with most critics praising the gameplay thanks to the mix of action, stealth and exploration. Most of the criticism was aimed towards the game’s story, which fans and critics felt was too predictable.

The game is currently a timed exclusive for the Xbox One and will be coming to the PC and PS4 in 2016. The PC version will be coming first, while PS4 owners have to be extremely patient, as the game won’t be coming out for Sony fans until the holiday period of 2016.

For now, Xbox One and Xbox 360 owners can pick up “Rise of the Tomb Raider” on retail and digital stores. There is also a special Xbox One bundle that packages “Rise of the Tomb Raider” with the “Tomb Raider” reboot and an Xbox One console.
