RTTNews - Tuesday, a report from Turkey's Ministry of Culture and Tourism showed that tourist arrivals into the country dropped 1.08% year-on-year in May, after rising 6.21% in April. A year earlier in May, tourist arrivals rose 20.15%.

During the month, the number of tourist arrivals declined to 2.72 billion from 2.75 billion last year, but increased over the 1.75 million arrivals in April.

Germany and Russia had the highest share in tourist arrivals in May, while Italy and Ukraine had the least share.

For the first five months of the year, tourist arrivals were down 0.72% year-on-year compared to a 15.15% growth in the same period the previous year.
