Twitter has just introduced a new button that allows publisher to easily embed it on their website. This enables visitors to subscribe to their Twitter accounts more easily.

More than 50 websites have already added this function, including The Wall Street Journal, Fox News, MTV, Sports Illustrated, Huffington Post, CBS, CNN Money, and AOL.

For publishers and brands, adding the Follow Button to your website and using Twitter to stay connected with your audience is a powerful combination, said Twitter in a statement.

Twitter was produced in March 2006 by Jack Dorsey and launched in July. Since then, Twitter has gained popularity globally and has around 200 million users, generating 65 million tweets a day and handling over 800,000 search queries per day.

Twitter is expected to reach 20.6 million US users in 2011, up from 16.4 million in 2010.
