FXstreet.com (Barcelona) - Consumption Indicator rose to the level of 1.99 points in September from the 1.95 points registered in August, according to the latest report by UBS Group.
The indicator printed record levels during last summer but after that, it has retraced to the actual levels surrounding the 200 points. The actual reading is well above its long term average of 1.49 points.
The higher contributors to the increase in the index were the rises in retail activity and in the number on new passenger car registrations. New car registrations increased by 8.5% on yearly basis. On the negative side, due to seasonal factor, hotel overnights by Swiss nationals declined in September. Consumer Sentiment declined as well, although it remains strong.
