Since she began taking the MMA world by storm more than four years ago, undefeated UFC women’s bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey has largely managed to keep her personal life away from the octagon. However, fans recently received a major glimpse into the 28-year-old’s world outside of the ring after fellow fighter Travis Browne revealed they are dating.

Speaking to SB Nation-affiliated show “The MMA Hour” on Monday, the heavyweight Browne went into full detail about his relationship with Rousey and even said he doesn’t wish to apply the typical relationship labels.

“Dating is for children. Dating is for kids. Over the summer, through all the [expletive] that I had to shuffle through, that I had to sift through, Ronda and I started talking throughout the summer and I’ll say now that we are together,” Browne said.

“She’s my woman and I’m her man. There’s no boyfriend, girlfriend stuff. There’s no dating. We’re together…. I’ve gotten to know her through the gym, through all that kind of stuff, so I’ve gotten to know her for who she is. The fact that she’s up there winning ESPYs, the star that she is on the movie screens and all that kind of stuff — that’s all great, but that’s not who I know her as, if that makes sense.

“I know her as one of the hardest working athletes that I’ve ever seen in this gym … that’s what a lot of people don’t see out of her. Or they see that but they don’t get to experience it.”

Browne, who has yet to set his next fight after losing to Andre Arlovski by technical knockout back in May, reportedly became close with Rousey after UFC investigated ex-girlfriend and fitness model Jenna Renee Webb’s claims of domestic violence. Browne was at first suspended but following the inquiry later reinstated by UFC in August.

Browne’s comments were a bit off the cuff, and it seems unlikely that they were planned, especially by Rousey. However, she did release a statement to ESPN after Browne’s revelation saying: “I don’t talk about my personal life much. That’s why it’s called ‘personal life.’ It’s true that Travis and I are in a relationship. I’ve really enjoyed the time we have spent together and getting to know one another. And that’s all I’m going to say about it.”

Typically unfazed by any sort of publicity, good or bad, it’s also unlikely Browne’s words will serve as a distraction before Rousey’s next bout. She’s currently training for a match up with undefeated Holly Holm at UFC 193 in Melbourne, Australia, on Nov. 15.
